Slight Changes on Couple Money
I’ve been thinking about it for awhile and I decided to go ahead and actually execute it. I’ll give you a behind the scenes peak and let you know that I tend to write my articles the same week (and day mostly) they’re published. I have a rough idea of what I’ll write, but I usually get sidetracked by whatever is going on in my life and write about that instead (like the VW story this past Thursday).
Sharing is caring!
While I think that has the advantage of providing some transparency in how we as a couple deal with finances, it doesn’t work for my goals. I feel as if I write more helpful posts when I have time to research the topic. I also want to be a better blogger and include the viewpoints of the personal finance community (and beyond), even if I may not necessarily agree with them.
I really would love to have Couple Money be considered as a resource for couples looking to build financial freedom together-whether that would be starting a business, getting out of debt, or creating a simpler and more manageable lifestyle. For me to create a community like that, though, I need your help.
- Share your thoughts in the comments. Comments help develop a good discussion and sharing one another’s expertise can be mutually beneficial.
- Share your favorite posts with a friend. If you see a post that you think someone specific would enjoy, please email them the link to the site. Hopefully if they enjoy reading the posts, they can subscribe through email.
- Promote it on the web. If you love social media sites, would you please consider highlighting some of your favorite couple Money posts on Reddit, Twitter, Tip’d, Facebook, or whatever site you use?
For some of my readers who are bloggers, I do try my best to keep tabs on you and promote some of my favorite posts as I read them. I think linking out to other great sites is a big part of building a genuine community.
New Schedule at Couple Money
I’m reserving Tuesdays and Thursdays as scheduled post days, where I’ll work on these a week or so in advanced. I’ll keep Mondays and Wednesdays for more personal posts which will hopefully give a better mix of posts. Some weeks I may not have something up on either of those days if things are quiet, but based on recent events, I think i’ll have something to write about.
I’m going to also start reviewing books regularly on Fridays. There are so many good (and horrible) personal finance and entrepreneurship themed books out. I think sharing my take on them and seeing what others think can be a beneficial series for the site. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
This week will be the start of the new schedule and I’d love for you to leave me some feedback on either Couple Money’s Facebook page or with my Twitter account.
Personal Finance Posts I Enjoyed This Week
I had some extra time Saturday afternoon to catch up on some wonderful posts. I’d also like to welcome Flexo to the Yakezie Challenge! I’ve been a Consumerism Commentary reader for a few years and I’m excited to see him join in.
