We’re home, safe, and sound! This working vacation was fun and even when I was doing some work; it was still fantastic. Going to E3 was great and I’m really excited about some games coming out later this year.
Flying Across the Country
We left at 6am PT and come back home at 6:30pm ET. I thought getting up at 4am was going to be impossible, but I was surprising alert. Our flight from LAX to IAD went by quickly I thought. I was able to read a bit, see some great American landscapes overhead, and catch How to Train Your Dragon. The movie was surprisingly fun; I think I enjoyed it more than the kids on the plane did.
Our second flight was delayed for an hour, so we relaxed in Dulles for a bit. There were plenty of shops around so we grabbed some food and coffee to fortify us for our last leg of the trip.
I will say that getting out of Raleigh/Durham Airport was a bit of a headache. There are plenty of exit signs, but many of them were blocked. Since it was the end of our trip I was anxious to get home and relax in my bed.
Our friend did a fantastic job watching our place and our cat. It was one less thing to worry about during our trip. Today we’re unpacking and sorting through everyone’s gifts. My husband is also looking for our SD/USB adaptor so I can upload pictures from our camera and share them. Hopefully we’ll find it in a bit and I can put them up.
Update: We found the adapter, so I’m uploading them on Couple Money’s Facebook page.
Books Read During Vacation:
I usually bring something for me to read when I go on vacations. My husband likes to sleep in on vacations and I use that quiet time to read some books. Flying this time around allowed me to read a bit more.
- Jane Austen Ruined My Life by Beth Patillo – I borrowed this book from a friend and I was able to finish in the hotel. I really enjoyed it.
- The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich – I grabbed this at an airport book store after I finished reading the magazines and newspapers I bought along. It’s interesting and now I have to look up some stuff on Facebook.
